I spent the first 3 years of my life at a circus. Yes, those with elephants, tigers, trapeze artists and more. My parents met there, worked there, and lived there.
Thanks to my mom's insistence, she and I moved to my grandparents' right before starting kindergarten, and my dad stayed at the circus for a number of years; I only saw him on birthdays, Holidays and during summer breaks.
One of my first money memories revolves around going with my mom to a pawn shop to get money from a couple of her pieces of jewelry to pay for school. Even though we weren't at all wealthy, my parents saw the value of a quality education, so I only attended private schools (I, to this date, don't know how much effort, dedication, sweat and more took it took them).
I attended college thanks to a partial scholarship and graduated with Honors with a Marketing degree from the prestigious Tecnologico de Monterrey in 2004.
During college I met the love of my life and we got married a couple years later, then we moved to El Paso, Texas.
I started in the financial industry in 2006, right before the financial crisis, but almost went back to Mexico when I realized that selling financial products for a commission didn't feel right for me.
I found another firm, and I've worked with them ever since. First, supporting them in their marketing and research efforts, and for the last 4 years as a financial advisor. In 2014 I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
What I love about my job is that my only product is my knowledge and my experience and that I work with a fantastic team that cares about helping our clients and making a difference in their lives.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and CFP® in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
